|
|
I'm working on a home brew game called Special Investigations: Nightshift. Think of it as Supernatural crossed with Homicide, and set in 1990s New Orleans.
I've made a custom character sheet for the game. It includes a few house rules. You'll note it lacks the Arcane Skills (no magic cops,) does have Defining Interests, and includes a note about the free gear each player gets (gun, vest, & badge). Beyond that it should be fairly standard as all the other house rules or setting rules don't require any special character sheet entries.
Character Sheet
Updated
SINS Character Sheet v3 (PDF).
Base Docx is (Here)
Old
SI:Nightshift Character Sheet v2 (PDF)
Also, Here is the base Docx for those that want to tweak it
Further Details:
It's inspired by Cheyenne's Realms of Cthulhu character sheet (Link) but I tried to include as much of the Training Wheels sheet as I could (Link). It's ended up a two page document, but the second page is mostly non-weapon gear and action hints.
I'm looking for feedback on the sheet, such as free editing, but also putting it out there for others to use, which is why I've also made the base file available in case someone wants to modify it for their own games (by changing the city, etc.)
If you're interested, the game is actually a spin-off of a 1980s Miami Vice crossed with Supernatural game a friend of mine ran for two "season." I'm sliding the concept closer to police procedural and darker tone.
Oh, and yes I foolishly made the character sheet in MS Word.

Very cool sheet, thanks for sharing! I hope I can one day run a campaign inspired by Gurps Voodoo, and whether I take the cop approach or something else (perhaps partially cops, partially voundoun-knowing 'good' gang members etc), I could well use this sheet.
Your campaign sounds fun too, I'm interested in hearing about the adventures if you have time! _________________

Cool sheet!
So, this is for Explorer's Edition, not Deluxe or Deluxe Explorer's Edition. That's a good thing to note.
I can tell because you're using the previous Incapacitation results, Full Defense is missing the +2, and you have left out the new combat tricks (Push, Rapid Attack).
Nits to Pick:
Grapple starts with an Opposed Fighting roll. It then moves on to a choice of Strength or Agility by each participant in the grapple.
Non-lethal damage is the same as lethal until Incapacitation. Wounds are wounds are wounds. _________________ "Got a problem? I've got the solution: Rocket Launcher."

@ ValhallaGH:
That's exactly the kind of editing I was looking for!
I'm actually intending to use the Deluxe rule, and I hadn't realized the training wheels sheet I was mimicking had older rules. I've just updated the sheet so it matches the newer rules you've mentioned and includes more hints and stunts. Let me know if I missed anything else.

@ Sean-Khan:
The original game was run using a highly bastardized version of World of Darkness rules, and like 80s cop shows it was full of drugs, shoot outs, and car chases. It also lacked much verisimilitude, which is also an 80 cop show thing. The most interesting part of the game was that it was a bunch of "normal" humans having to deal with supernatural threats, and then conceal the truth... all on a crappy budget. "Bear escaped from the zoo" became the code word for rampaging supernatural threats.
If you're interested, I've started a SINS thread in the homebrew section fo the forum here. |

Glad to help.
I didn't notice anything else. But I have been known to overlook things from time to time.
Good luck! _________________ "Got a problem? I've got the solution: Rocket Launcher."

I double "Strongly" suggest reading these books!!!! I buy 'em as soon as each new edition comes out.
And it is Larry Correia, not Steve. _________________ http://www.armsonline.org/

| Arg! Both Docx versions refuse to open. Which is a shame because these are 99% what I want in a character sheet! |

Wish these sheets were in Word doc format instead of docx format.
I would love to use them for my upcoming Monster Hunter International game.
Could they be made more generic? Or with "Monster Hunter International" instead of the Police Department in it's upper left? _________________
