Okay.. just broke out Slaughter Gulch and played a game for the first time, with myself, my son and wife...
Took some going over the rules a bit, but overall it was a rather fun game...
However, there seemed to be one major problem.
Sherrif starts play in Jail and stays there. Rules have some detailed thing about how the Deputy starts in Jail when he shows up, then goes room to room each round and arrests people if they do something illegal while he is in there that round, yet.. THERE IS NO DEPUTY!! No encounter card for the Deputy. Odd that.
Other than the AWOL Deputy, I really enjoyed the game.
Thanks guys for something a little different.

Glad you like it and appreciate the thanks, but Slaughter Gulch isn't a Pinnacle product. It's made under license by our friends over at Twilight Creations. For any questions or comments on the rules, I'd check their site...

that explains why I could find nothing on the forums about it... thanks for the addy, I am sending my question about the AWOL Deputy that way.

FYI, deputy and Sheriff are words for the same character, IMO.

No, turns out that the Deputy is an "Event" Card.. most NPCs, the Sherrif included, are "Emcounter" Cards.. nothing in the rules ever pointed out that the Deputy was an event instead of an encounter, but I got an email response from the site above.
Still a fun game, I do recommend it.
