I like Slipstream, but one of the things that bugged me was that there didn't seem to be enough art. My players like to have some kind of visual reference for all of the races they are meeting.
So if it's okay with Pinnacle, I thought I'd pick up my art pens after a long hiatus and try some art renderings. I'll try to do one a day, but no guarantees. |

Well as a fan I support this!
I am also interestred in seeing what all the races look like. I mean i can describe them myself quite happily but I love seeing how other folks see them.
So go Vinzent!

So I guess I'll go in order.
Today, A stands for Akwasian...
I will of course being skipping the races already painted up beautifully in the book.
Edit: I updated it with a quick color pass.

It occurred to me looking at this drawing that it could be scaled down easily and turned into a figure flat.
What do you think, should I make all of the drawings figure-flat friendly? |

Feel free to use them. I'll make up a figure flats sheet as I get them done.
Next up, from Amazonia.....The Raptor Men and the Cavors. |

Great picture. More please.
You know that a lot of the creatures have figure flats.
If you zoom in they have enough details.
They could at least used as guide and inspiration.
A Art-book pdf with the samr art as figre flats would be cool once you have enough of them.
Dont feel limited by the art of a drawn race. I would love to see your take on lionmens, robotmen and babylonian. |

This is definitely a thread for me to watch!
Have to check though, were the Raptor Men and Cavors supposed to be in that post Vinzent, or are they just the ones you're working on at the moment - as I can't see any awesome artwork there? _________________ Currently Playing:

Although, for many races, the Akwasian, for instance, the female may not be significantly different than the male.
It might be cool to have one or two that are radically different, like either small or very large! And they may not look alike at all!

No I was just announcing what's up next. I have the Raptor Man drawn but unfortunately my scanner is on the fritz.
So I'm going to say 2-3 of these a week.

The painting of the Lion Man with the blaster from the book has got to be my favorite piece in the book. I can't top it. I don't paint.

I didn't know that. Since Studio 2 is charging for it I feel like a heel now.
If anyone has their figure flats, tell me, are there any aliens that they missed? |

Okay, so I don't stomp on the hard work of the nice folks at Studio 2, I'll focus on making concepts for those aliens they didn't cover.
I'll keep drawing and hopefully when my scanner is working again I'll be able to upload several images. |

| Next up would be Angelis, but the description says the are indistinguishable from humans, so I'll skip them. So next up is Aridians! |

So I've got the Aridians drawn up but my scanner is fritzing again. I swear, I'll probably just end up using my digital camera to transfer these onto computer. In the mean time I'll start on the next design.
Not to sound like a glory-hog or anything but I'd like to hear some words of encouragement or at least someone telling me I'm making a fool of myself. It has been a long time since I picked up brush and pencil, you know.
Also if there is any outcry against one of my designs, I could be persuaded to redesign it.
And yes, once I get through with the males I will be doing female versions. I just want to get the concepts down first. |

| They look great, and I would personaly love to see you do all of the races, especialy the main ones that already have art. To my silly mind you bring a unified style that looks better to have all of them in that to have a mis match on the table. but that is just one escaped loonie talking |
