Well the digital camera didn't work out but I think I finally fixed my scanner. So here's the Aridians and the Borealians (color versions to come later).

By the way, for those of you looking at turning Vinzent's drawings into Figure Flats, you're not alone. We've talked about it, and, when the drawings are done, we're going to turn them into Figure Flat sheets and put them on the Downloads page on www.peginc.com.
Just so you know and we don't start a whole separate set of rumors. _________________ Joel Kinstle

Crystaloosians were weird. I was expecting them to be made from gemstone, but apparently they are organic.
I might revisit Aridians and Borealians. I'm not liking those pictures. |

Vinzent, these are wonderful, thank you!
When I'm talking up Slipstream at my booth I'll be sure to mention this thread and your work. Thanks! _________________ -Muse (aka Jodi Black)

So here's the Frigim. Still waiting on delivery for my laptop to do a color pass, but thankfully my work has a scanner.

These are truly awesome pics! My hat's off to you!
I was rather surprised by some of the interpretations of Slipstream races in the figure flats. For instance, I didn't know that Vergelmirions look like anthropomorphic lemurs, or that Hosbecites resemble Cousin Itt from the Addams Family, or that the green-skinned guy on page 80 is a Tropico. Gyptosians are described in the text as "dark-skinned humanoids," which I took to mean copper-colored, since they're clearly supposed to be Egyptians, but apparently what "dark-skinned" actually means is PURPLE! Cauldrons are described as "ruddy-skinned humanoids," which apparently means "ruddy-skinned humanoids with horns, hooves, and tails with a spade at the end." Still, it was nice to finally see what Septosians look like, considering they're one of the major races but are left out of the line-up on page 4 (I guess none of the others could stand the smell).
BTW, I noticed that while Borealians are described as "yellow-skinned humanoids" whose only exotic ability is their power to produce a blast of static electricity, in the description of their fragment on pages 60-61 it states that they are immune to the effects of lightning. Accordingly, I gave them the +2 Edge "Immune to Electricity." To keep things balanced, I also gave them the Hindrance "Habit (major: electricity). Basically, they have been exposed to electricity for so long that their bodies have become physiologically dependent on it and they need a shock every so often to keep themselves going.
And can anyone explain to me why Queen Anathraxa tolerates the Amici, who are a race of empaths, while the Psiclops are all under a sentence of death?
Keep up the great work! |
