So the Fantasy Companion has all of the powers from core book plus some new ones. I don't know the timing of when the Fantasy Companion was published compared to the SW deluxe. Are the powers from the Deluxe edition updated since the Fantasy companion was published or is what is in Fantasy up to date?

The first printing of the Fantasy Companion predates Deluxe, so SWD has the most current versions of powers. The upcoming reprint of the FC will have those same updates. _________________ Clint Black

Is there going to be any new material? At the very least, I would imagine that stuff that made it's way into the Deluxe Core Book (like the race creation rules) would be removed. _________________ The rabbit is cuddly. I know you probably can't confirm or deny this, Clint, but as a personal preference, I'd like to see the magic item creation rules from the original Fantasy Toolkits included.
I know that item creation and indeed even whether or not items *can* be created by PCs in the first place are entirely dependent on one's setting, but at least those rules give a starting point for GMs to look at and take into consideration.

A good bet for printing, shipping, and delivery for books from overseas is about four months.
I'm pretty confident that it's too late to request anything for a printed book scheduled to be out sometime in the first quarter or so.
Sorry to be the bearer of bad news. _________________ Joel Kinstle

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news. | I don't think it was a request for the change as much as an inquiry of whether or not the rules were included when it was updated. _________________ Kristian

FC should also have traps and good old dungeon generation or something.
Portions too. |

Nope on both counts. As has been said since the beginning, the reprint will update material but not be a rewrite or major alteration to the original book. _________________ Clint Black

Even better:
Will the cover in some way denote the edition has updates? Or will we need to dig thru the indicia?
I own a copy of the last Fantasy Companion in paperback, and would like to pick up a second for my son to have his own copy, so I am curious as to what is updated? |

Well, the most extensive updates would be in the powers, so they match the versions in Deluxe. You know, Bolt work like Deluxe Bolt, etc.

Don't know that it will be on the cover, but the inside credits page will list something like "Second Printing" like any reprint. _________________ Clint Black

What I have been wondering is how the updated pdf is to be acquired. Like many others, I already have the Fantasy Companion in pdf format. Will the revised version be an update or will I be buying the new version? I am not adamantly opposed to buying it again, but I would like to know what to expect.
I am looking forward to getting it in print. _________________ Sorry for type-os. I am freaking blind in one eye and completely blind in the other.

This is great news, there are guys at my gaming group who have been after the SW Fantasy Companion for ages, but its nearly impossible to find a copy anywhere. I'll have to let them know to keep their eyes peeled for the reprinted edition.

| Saw the link. it is tempting although the site does say it was added in 2009 which gives me cause to pause. if it is the updated version then yay I'm for buying it no problem. |
