Wierd, I looked at Blue Planet years ago because I was looking for a genuine hard sci-fi game to replace the bug-laden Megatraveller. I was saddened to see that the website was moribund and it looked as if a good game was going down the tubes, so I am very, very glad it is in safe hands and may be Savaged.
I must admit I have no notion of Earthdawn or Fading Suns, but the enthusiasm is amazing. _________________ Biting! It's like kissing but there's a winner!

| I have a question, is there any chance that barbarian game that seems to be primarily parody based could be considered for conversion to Savage Worlds? Demonworld and Earthdawn have my interests piqued as well. But I think I will adapt a "wait and see" attitude before I commit to much more. |

You mean Barbaren! No, that is not a RedBrick game (it's from Pro-Indie, though their team is part of the RedBrick team). And no, I can't see that being converted to Savage Worlds. It's very much an Indie game as the mechanics are fitted very closely to the topic (though I can say that it is pretty awesome).
Kind regards,
James Sutton

| Ah well, I may have to look it over to see how easily it can get ported over. The premise is intriguing enough. |

- I've been following the FS3 blogs and forums for a while now, and I must say, it looks to me like the team working on it knows exactly WTF they are doing. I have a nearly complete collection of 1st and 2nd edition and am very much looking forward to 3rd.
- I posted this over a month ago: http://www.peginc.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=32903&p=325420#325420
- So prospect of a Savage Fading Suns leaves me overjoyed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

| Just the fact that there is a strong possibility that I can see a version of Earthdawn to play around with gets me giddy. |

I hate to ask this because its still so early, BUUUUUUUT, any idea on when SW Earthdawn may be slated for. Late 2012, 2013, the year fading suns takes place? |

Just appointed a Line Developer and Dev Team. If the Passions are willing, we should see the Player's Guide next in early 2012, with the Game Master's Guide following suit.
Keep an eye out for the Kickstarter announcements, which will herald us getting close to completion (and allow access to the Limited Edition core rulebooks -- likely the only way to get those). I'll crosspost on this Forum as we closer to setting a definitive release date.

Does that mean Earthdawn first, and then Fading Suns? _________________ "Games give you a chance to excel, and if you're playing in good company you don't even mind if you lose because you had the enjoyment of the company during the course of the game. "

I think fading suns will be a while. A. stated over on the RPG.net forums that Core comes before side stuff (like SW). Since, if I remember right, they are working on FS 3rd right now, don't expect SW version until after that.
Don't quote me on this though, I could just be talking out my backside. |

I've been reading all the blog posts and forum threads for Fading Suns 3rd Edition and it is shaping up to be really awesome. These RedBrick guys are on the ball, big time. I don't know whether I'm more excited about Fading Suns 3rd Edition or Savage Fading Suns!

I was never big on Fading Suns' system, but it's the type of setting where the system can be overlooked or hand waved.
IMO what it needs (or can benefit from) are good rules for social combat, and rules for space combat that can easily scale from a small skirmish, or vessel to vessel up to a large battle.
Savage Worlds has all that, but I am still interested in what they come up with for a 3rd edition. Hopefully it's quick and easy to GM. _________________ "Games give you a chance to excel, and if you're playing in good company you don't even mind if you lose because you had the enjoyment of the company during the course of the game. So is kickstarter the fund raising mechanism where people pony up money in advance of the release to get some cool swag? If so, count me in for ED and FS |
