I'm currently preparing Plot Point 3 of the "Winter War" mini plot point campaign in the Great Northwest trail guide.
As the locale of Hell's Canyon is written up, the Snake River is described several times as flowing south in Hell's Canyon, but from checking on real world maps the reverse seems to be true in real life.
Do I have that correct? _________________ My Deadlands Image Gallery

Thanks, looks like the Trail Guide got it wrong.
"The Dunlevy Mining Co. set up shop just south of Hells Canyon ..."
"Whether the posse tries coming downriver, or opts for going upriver past (or through) the mining camp, there's a major hazard to avoid or
endure."
Guess I'll just reverse the location of the mining camp and any directions given in the book. _________________ My Deadlands Image Gallery

Yep, that was my screw-up, not being intimately acquainted with Idaho geography.
You can reverse the directions, or just assume this West is weirder than anyone thought. _________________ Matthew Cutter

| Yeah, you have to switch the mining camp around to have things make sense especially if your posse is doing much river travel on the Snake |

The movie I may work on is about, and I went to HS ware this started and it is also near hells canyon and vaugley on topic.
One of the things that started the "Nez Pierce War" was the drunk map maker (who may be played by Garry Busy) mislabelled what valley went to the white settlers and what one went to the Indians. It was simpler to run the natives out of the Wallawa valley than to rewrite the treaty and re print the maps
