|
|
Hi folks, after playing in a couple of Deadlands Reloaded adventures a while back and having a blast, I'm now gearing up for running my own campaign. The plan is to run the mini plot point campaign from "The Great Northwest" and then see whether we want to continue.
While building characters I've been missing a comprehensive list of Edges across from all the books I have (SW Deluxe, DLR, The Flood, Last Sons, S&R Catalog). Referencing all these, keeping the changes from DLR to SWD in mind, etc. is a bit burdensome.
Is there such a list available on the web? If there isn't, and I create my own, would it be permissible to post it publicly? |

Hi Uthoroc,
There's no such list I know of. I think it would be fine to create a list of the names of the Edges and what book they appear in.
But if you're going to post it online, it cannot include any text copied from the books, or summaries of the game mechanics.
See the Savage fan license for more information.

True, but they mix the edges from all the settings together. Kinda hard to sort the Deadlands edges out. |
Yeah, it is kind of a giant mess of nonsense.
A consolidated pdf list of solely deadlands edges kind of like the powers sheet, but referencing books and page numbers would be a super resource. I always kick myself when I take an advance and afterward remember the half dozen other things I really liked but completely forgot about.
Hell, I might even pay for something like that. And if I saw a teaser for something I really liked, I'd probably go buy the book it was in. |

If people give me a week, maybe less, I will have the lists broken down by source (according to the list in the Savagepedia). _________________ Stephen J. Miller

If I can promote my product, Wild Card Creator will give you a nice list of all the Edges available in Deadlands, with full text, if you import the content from the PDFs. This is of course designed so that you can more easily make Deadlands characters using the program. In this update, there is a video where I import the content for Deadlands Reloaded and towards the end of the video you can see how the list of Edges is updated to include Deadlands ones.
Ideally I'd like to have it prompt the user to ask if they want to apply the DLR Savage Worlds Deluxe Update document as well, so it would be even more convenient. _________________ Wild Card Creator: Any PDF. Any Setting. No Extra Cost.

Thanks to the good folks at Peginc, I can share the non-rules part of my big List O' Edges with the public. You'll find it as a spreadsheet on Google docs:
Deadlands: Reloaded Edges (Public)
The sheet lists the Edges' name (formatted so that "Improved" versions go with the lesser variants when sorted alphabetically), source books, page number, edge type and rank.
At the moment the list contains edges from Savage World Deluxe, Deadlands Reloaded Player Guide, The Flood, Last Sons and the Action & Adventure Deck. Smith & Robards Catalog will be added later.
Note that I haven't had the time to double-check this list thoroughly. There are bound to be mistakes and typos in the list. If you spot any, please post them here so I can fix them. Thanks! _________________ My Deadlands Image Gallery

This...this could be quite useful. Thanks!
Minor nitpick: I thought Adept didn't port to Deadlands, because it has Martial Artist as a prereq? I could be wrong, I only updated to SWD recently. |

No idea, but SW Deluxe doesn't list Martial Artist as a prereq. It's effect is partially similar to Martial Artist though. _________________ My Deadlands Image Gallery

Hmmm, mine lists the requirement in the Edge description, but not the summary table. Actually the description varies between both locations as well. (Explorer's Edition)
Is this errata'd somewhere?
EDIT: Indeed it has. Adept requires Martial Artist. |

OK, so here is what I did. I took all the entries from the savagepedia for Edges. I put that into an Excel spreadsheet, adding the rank (novice, seasoned, etc.) and type (background, combat, etc.). I then made it filterable, so you can pick and choose the settings you want to show. It's just a simple spreadsheet, but it would be darn useful for picking out Edges.
It has the descriptions that are in the savagepedia, but nothing like page number or the exact book text.
Now I just have to put it up somewhere... _________________ Stephen J. Miller
