A Community Opportunity + PEG’s Ongoing Search for New Artists
Many of you here know the name “Aaron Acevedo.” For several years now, Aaron has been Pinnacle’s Art Director. Crack open a number of our published games and supplements and you’ll see him listed there in the credits.
Now, Aaron is facing a very real and significant health issue, but you could be the one to turn things around for him:
“Hey everyone, I wanted to share a very personal update about my health journey. It’s been a challenging road, but I believe in transparency and the power of community, so here goes.
In 2022, I received the diagnosis of kidney failure. It was a lot to process, and at the time I was also facing a health crisis with my wife who was diagnosed with glioblastoma which ultimately claimed her life.
My life has changed significantly as I’ve lived on dialysis. This treatment is incredible; it’s literally keeping me alive by doing the work my kidneys can no longer do. It’s a demanding process, requiring regular sessions that take up a significant portion of my week, and it comes with its own set of ups and downs. It’s a new rhythm of life, one that takes a lot of adjustment and resilience.
Despite the daily challenges of dialysis, there’s a powerful light at the end of this tunnel: the possibility of a kidney transplant. After open-heart surgery to repair my heart enough for surgery, I’ve officially started the screening process to be approved for a transplant, and it feels like taking a huge step forward towards regaining a more normal life. A successful transplant would mean so much – more energy, more freedom, and ultimately, time and a healthier future.
This is where you, my incredible community, might be able to help.
The best possible outcome for me, and for many in my situation, is a living kidney donor. A living donor transplant offers the best long-term outcomes and can significantly reduce the waiting time for a compatible kidney. It’s an incredibly generous act, and I know it’s a big ask, but it’s also a profound gift of life.
If you’ve ever considered becoming a living organ donor, or if my story moves you to learn more, I’d be incredibly grateful if you’d explore the possibility of being tested to see if you’re a match. The process begins with a simple screening to determine compatibility and overall health.

Please know that even sharing this post (please do!), raising awareness, or simply sending good vibes means the world to me. This journey is tough, but it’s made so much easier by the support of those around me. Thank you for taking the time to read this, and for being a part of my story.” – Aaron “Ace” Acevedo
Consider making a huge difference for Aaron by becoming a living organ donor.
Additionally, PEG has several upcoming projects across a variety of genres, and we’re looking for some talented artists, especially illustrators who can create amazing, dynamic visuals for our games. If your art tells a story and fits our vibe, we want to see it!
We’re also opening the door to comic book pencillers. If you’re great at sequential art and making characters pop on the page, this is your chance to draw for some truly wild stories.
A love for (Weird) Westerns definitely earns bonus points—but it’s not required!
If you’re interested, please send a link to your portfolio or some sample work to Aaron at [email protected].
Show us your best work! We look forward to collaborating with you! 🎨
