From the fiendish minds behind East Texas University,Pinebox Middle School is a brand new “kids on bikes” setting for Savage Worlds! The players take the roles of middle school kids who just can’t escape the supernatural horrors that plague the town of Pinebox, Texas! Your parents don’t believe you. Your teachers are too busy to care. Law enforcement officers are in way over their heads. If anyone is going to save the world and get home in time for bedtime, it’s up to a group of clever Texas kids from the heartland! Yippee Ki Yay!

For Backers:

Every backer coming from Kickstarter has a coupon in the Coupons Tab of their account (be sure you’re logged in). Clicking on this coupon will automatically add your PBMS/Horror Companion pledge tier (plus any add-ons you grabbed during the Kickstarter) and apply a credit equal to your Kickstarter pledge amount! Then, you can add any other products from our store into your order now, like the Savage Worlds core rules. When you complete your order, if you have any physical products, any applicable shipping will be charged. Your order will show a “Crowdsource Hold” status until the Order Manager closes.

Note: If your coupon does not automatically add your reward tier (or if you’re trying to upgrade to a higher reward tier), use the links in you backer-only Kickstarter update to navigate to the page where you can add a reward tier to your cart. Do not use the pre-order items to the right!

As long as the Order Manager is open, you can click “Upgrade Order” to modify your pledge. You’ll see a confirmation box that explains how this works:

Your order is “canceled” and a credit equal to your pledge is applied to your cart. You can then add a pledge tier of equivalent or higher value to your cart, plus any other products on the PEG store you’d like included in your order. Once you’ve made all your changes, you’ll confirm the order and pay any outstanding balance if you’ve upgraded/added other products.

You can keep doing this until the Order Manager closes and your order is marked as “Processing“. Any products purchased as part of your Pinebox Middle School & Horror Companion order will ship together when the campaign is fulfilled to bundle shipping; if you want any existing PEG products shipped early, you’ll have to purchase them in a separate order. Welcome to Pinebox, Texas. This setting is meant to evoke the frightening adventures of staples like Stranger Things®, Goosebumps®, The Goonies®, and It®! Evil is afoot, and it’s up to a group of scrappy young kids to set things right. But this isn’t a nostalgic trip back in time: modern technology and modern problems are in the mix to complicate the balance between family, school, and horror.

The Pinebox Middle School core book was written by Scott Woodard (The Savage World of Flash Gordon®, The Sixth Gun RPG®), Tracy “Super” Sizemore, and the original ETU creators, Preston DuBose and Ed Wetterman! It offers everything you need to create your own starting 6th grader, complete with new Hindrances, Edges, and even a section for Family Generation so you know who you need to con to get a ride to the site of your next ghost hunt. There are rules getting around Pinebox and surrounding Golan County as a kid with little more than your trusty bike, navigating the strange unreliability of cell phone signals in rural Texas, using “soft weapons” such as water guns and fire-crackers to distract and disrupt your opponents, and even for dabbling in the arcane via dangerous but powerful ritual magic.

There’s an Adventure Generator to help create your own scenarios for the heroes to play through. The Descent into the Inferno Plot Point Campaign takes the kids from 6th grade all the way through 8th in the pursuit of a dangerous mastermind and his strange, undead abominations that threaten to unleash an army of horrors on Earth. Also included is a full curriculum of Savage Tales that can be used as part of your own saga, or in conjunction with the Plot Point Campaign to add more drama to the group’s experience.

In addition to the core book, the Pinebox Boxed Set includes:

• Ready to play Archetypes, optionally advanced to the 7th Grade (Seasoned) level.
• A full set of Savage Worlds dice, including Wild Die!

Print Rewards

Once we feel the books are in the right place, we’ll pass it off to our printing partners for review to make sure no changes are required for printing. Once we greenlight our production proofs, they’ll start printing the book (and other rewards), package them, and ship them to our distribution partner, Studio 2 Publishing. Then they’ll ship your items to your door! We expect this process to take approximately eight months, but we’ll update everyone when we have more tangible estimates for printing and shipping!
