Celebrating 25 Years of Deadlands in Deadwood This Weekend
Games, Gold, & Ghost Rock!
We couldn’t very well celebrate a quarter-century of Deadlands just anywhere, so this week, we’re packing up our saddle bags and heading to historic Deadwood, South Dakota!
While we’re there, we’ll witness a shootout reenactment on the same streets once walked by Wyatt and Morgan Earp, fling poker chips with abandon like Poker Alice, test our luck at cards like “Wild Bill” Hickok, commune with the spirits—both distilled and ethereal—with toasts to the memory of Calamity Jane and supernatural sightings of Seth Bullock’s ghost in the halls of his hotel…
We’ll also tell tall-tales ’round game tables with new friends, board John Goff‘s murderous Night Train, witness one of Jodi Black‘s infamous Critical Failures, grab some grub with Sean Owen Roberson of Savage Rifts® and Mike Barbeau of Pathfinder® for Savage Worlds, get a first look at the new Weird West Edition of Doomtown with the Pine Box Entertainment crew, bribe Simon Lucas for a gander at that shiny new Chase Deck, witness the artistry of Karl Keesler, talk shop with Donald Schepis and Clint Black, and get a glimpse of the future of the definitive Weird Western with the incomparable Shane Hensley.
And note, you don’t actually have to be in Deadwood this weekend to get in on the fun:
- Be one of the first to back the new Weird West Edition of Doomtown, as it launches on Kickstarter today.
- Subscribe to our new TikTok channel and see what Weird West goodies are shipping out to backers right now.
- Consider joining us for our next Expedition, a Savage Cruise to Belize in January 2022.
- Play Horror at Headstone Hill online with friends using Foundry VTT or Roll20.
- Listen to the Pit of the West podcast, a weird-western horror audio drama inspired by Deadlands.
No matter how your celebrate, share your own Deadlands memories, game session photos, and shelfies all over social media with #Deadlands25th
For those of you who have joined us on Expedition Deadwood 2021, here is our schedule:
Grab tickets to remind you to Join us for Appetizers, and to reserve your space for the Trial of Jack McCall and the Bullock Hotel Ghost Tour Group 1 or Tour Group 2.
You don’t need tickets to enjoy the FREE daily (except on Sunday) re-enactments that are going on around town. Take these in at your leisure:
And ALL of our badged guests get FREE admission into Deadwood’s most popular museums. If you’re planning on visiting them on Thursday before our Friday opening events, stop by the convention space (lower level of the Holiday Inn Express) to pick up your Museum Combo Pass and PastPort which gets you free rides on the Trolley to all the locations except the Mt. Moriah Cemetery:
Looking forward to the rest of the weekend:
