Fear Effects for Savage Worlds – Now On Steam & Fantasy Grounds
If your hero has ever encountered something truly ghastly or totally gruesome in your Savage Worlds horror adventures, you’ve likely made a Fear Check or two and suffered from the results presented on the Fear Table found in the Core Rules.
With Fear Effects for Fantasy Grounds, the existing system has been enhanced with one hundred MORE ways to be afraid!
Originally published by 12 to Midnight, the Fear Effects system is designed to be simple, keeping the emphasis on the adventure and not on burdensome rules. If your Fear Check fails, the Fear Effect is tiered based on the severity of the situation, ranging from “weak knees” to coimetrophobia (fear of cemeteries), and even up to hysterical blindness (psychosomatic blindness).
However, the Fear Effects system is more than a single set of rules. It is also a GM toolbox for creating your own rules to fit your campaign, which is why it also includes nine rule options and variants. While Fear Effects was written with modern horror in mind, it uses nothing specific to one time period or genre. Use it in any campaign from fantasy to future to give your game a more realistic edge. Fear Effects reminds players that dangerous adventures can carry all sorts of consequences and helps stimulate roleplay.
Visit Steam or the Fantasy Grounds store to add Fear Effects to your VTT library today!
💀 Please note that Fear Effects has not been updated to Savage Worlds Adventure Edition. To use it for SWADE, some minor adjustments may be needed.
