New Gamemaster Month is the annual month-long January “seminar” designed to get new GMs up and running games by February.

As one of eight game companies taking part, our featured system is, of course, Savage Worlds!

Organized by our good friends at Monte Cook Games, New Gamemaster Month gives you what you need to run your first game—inspiration, advice, and a step-by-step process that guides prospective GMs up to and through their first adventure.

Each session will take you through a step or two in the process, with a brief lesson on an aspect of GMing followed by some quick, enjoyable activities that actually get you ready to run your first game. It’s not all academic, by any means—this is a hands-on seminar.

By the end of the program, in early February, you won’t be a “prospective” GM any more: You’ll have GMed your first full-on Savage Worlds session, running it without a hitch and having a great time doing it!

Throughout the program, there will be expert GMs on-hand to answer all your questions and provide general support at the New Gamemaster Month Discord Server or the New Gamemaster Month Facebook group. Please drop in, join the group, introduce yourself, and ask any questions you might have. Other new GMs will also be there—it’s a great place to share your experiences and support one another.
