Savage Worlds Takes on ChupacabraCon VIII This Weekend

This weekend, if you’re near Round Rock, TX, be sure to make your way over to ChupacabraCon VIII at the Wingate by Wyndham Hotel & Conference Center to play a number of great games, sit in on a few exciting panels, and meet up with some PEG alums including Jodi and Clint Black, Preston DuBose, Karl Keesler, and Ed Wetterman!

ChupacabraCon (or “Chupa” as all the cool kids say) is the premiere tabletop RPG and board game convention in the greater Austin area. This event is run by the nonprofit foundation Austin Creative Pathways benefitting Extra Life whose mission is to unite thousands of gamers around the world to play games in support of their local Children’s Miracle Network Hospital.

Chupa is known for having an unusually high number of industry guests including designers and authors of many of the top RPGs. Being a small event of less than 1,000 attendees, this is a unique opportunity to meet your favorite designers, many of whom run games at the event.

In fact our own Clint Black is running a spectacular (and often hilarious) Audience Participation Pro Guest Charity Game starting at 2pm on Saturday:

The Con Game

It’s time once again for the greatest convention in the Southern mid-state area around this time of year, FALE-Con! The Fandom Assemblage League Expo Convention is celebrating its 24th (month) anniversary!

The convention pulled out all the stops with lots of special guests! Game designers like Shaun Hedsley whose Deathlands RPG was only $50 short of its $100,000 goal on Kickstarter! And of course, you know, Matt Mercer, the famous voice actor and GM of Critical Role Roll. His cousin will be there!

Plus, special appearances from Batman (television and movie), Jurassic Park, Ghostbusters, and other famous shows… of replicas of their vehicles!

It looks to be the best FALE-Con ever!

At least, as the heads of Gaming, the Dealers’ Hall, Security, and Guest Relations, it’s the players’ job to ensure it’s the best. But as they say, no plan survives contact with the enemy. And the audience gets to be the enemy!

For this charity game, audience members can donate to inflict effects from the Con-Found-It! Table of Doom on the players. Or if you’re feeling sympathetic to the poor players, you can donate to help them out. Bring your tongue firmly planted in cheek for this romp through a convention where everything will most definitely not go as planned.

We hope to see you this weekend in Round Rock, and don’t forget to pack your lucky Wild Die!
